Leaning on the sporty side of GADA

Over the past five years, our daily lives have changed dramatically. For many, the days of suiting up in the morning and heading into the office are gone. Working from anywhere is the new norm for many, whether that’s from home, or your favorite coffee shop. One of the beneficiaries of this was undoubtedly the GADA watch, which has become the perfect wrist-worn companion.

We went looking for a watch that reflects this — one that has character without being too loud, that tastefully stands out, and that has your back in the most extreme situations while never looking out of place. You put it on your wrist, and come what may, it’s there for you. That watch is the Alpina × Fratello Alpiner Extreme Regulator.

Specs that make sense

This Alpina × Fratello Alpiner Extreme Regulator is a rugged watch with rugged specs, including a 200m depth rating, sapphire crystals, and a rock-solid automatic movement. We added our Dutch touch by using orange for the central hand on this regulator dial. With the satin-brushed case’s 41mm diameter, 49.5mm lug-to-lug, and 12mm thickness, the sporty Alpina × Fratello Alpiner Extreme Regulator sits nicely on my 18cm wrist, be it under shirt cuffs or with a T-shirt. It’s best for those with an 18cm wrist or larger and a desire for a sporty GADA watch.

Inside the case, you’ll find Alpina’s AL-650 movement, a modified Sellita SW461. It’s a self-winding caliber with a 4Hz (28,800vph) frequency and a 38-hour power reserve. You can admire the inner workings of the Alpiner Extreme Regulator via the transparent case back. The black rotor underlines the sporty character of the watch. This movement is a tried and tested workhorse that will serve you well. Plus, any competent watchmaker anywhere will be able to service it.

The uncommon and interesting regulator layout

The Alpiner Extreme Regulator has a true régulateur layout, including a large orange central minute hand, a sub-dial at 10 o’clock for the hours, and the running seconds in a sub-dial at 6 o’clock. The bright orange hand will ensure a proper readout of the time with just a glance at the dial.

Limitation and availability

Limited to 99 pieces, the Alpina × Fratello Alpiner Extreme Regulator will cost €2,062 (excluding VAT). The watch is available online for an exclusive two-week window in the Fratello Shop, closing on February 21st. Once the window has closed, all orders will ship, and all watches are expected to be delivered around the start of March.

How quickly are orders processed?

Do you ship internationally?

We offer fully-insured worldwide delivery on all purchases.

Please note that for shop purchases, Fratello is required to declare the retail value of the timepiece or item(s) in the shipment. International shipments may be subject to import fees upon arrival in the destination country; any importation fees or taxes are the sole responsibility of the customer.

How is my order shipped?

Your order will be shipped via UPS Express Saver and is fully insured. UPS will try to deliver the shipment on three occasions. After that, the shipment may be returned to us.

Exact shipping times depend on the destination and customs. You can track you parcel using the tracking link provided to you.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Orders placed Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. CET to 5:00 P.M. CET may be edited or canceled within 1 hour of order placement (where possible) by emailing shop@fratello.com. Please note that changes or cancellations are not guaranteed. Those orders that are shipped before a cancellation has been confirmed, must be returned by the guidelines featured in our return policy.

What about pre-orders?

Should you change your mind after placing your order, Fratello will honor any cancellations and offer a full refund when the request is made before the pre-order window closes. Once the pre-order window is closed, all orders are final, and we are unable to cancel your order and offer a refund. All pre-ordered watches are bespoke and made-to-order, so the regular 14-day return window does not apply.
