When we received new watches for the shop, this was the first watch that everyone here — no exceptions — grabbed first. It is the Rado Golden Horse 1957 Automatic with red fumé dial. We reviewed the watch back in August 2019 (click here to read our review) and the author (Mike) came to the following conclusion: “If you’re in the market for a dressier watch and you’d like something distinctive, classic, and somewhat limited, I’d seriously recommend taking a look at the Golden Horse 1957. It’s so much better than most of the mindless three-hand “business watches” that I see on the wrists of so many people each and every day. Rado put some thought into making this watch and I’d probably say the same about those who ultimately decide to buy one.”
And to sweeten the deal even further, we decided to put this modern classic on the oh-so-vintage beads-of-rice bracelet. Previously, this model had been delivered on the black leather strap. Of course, we’ll include that too in case that’s how you like to roll. But now, courtesy of the Fratello Watches Shop, you have options (and it won’t cost you an extra cent).
The Rado Golden Horse 1957 automatic is a limited edition (1,957 pieces), but not individually numbered. It is our favorite version of the bunch (they also come in green, blue, and black), as the red fumé dial is really something different and the reason why everyone here in the office immediately tried it on their wrists. With a diameter of 36.5mm and a height of 10.8mm, it is a slim and easy-wearing watch on the wrist.
This watch comes with the additional black leather strap, a strap/bracelet changing tool, the original box, warranty card, instructions, and a two-year international warranty. We are an authorized reseller of all RADO watches we offer on Fratello.
