Apollo 11 40th Anniversary

Since 1989, every five years, Omega treats us with a special Speedmaster to commemorate the Apollo 11 mission. The first mission where mankind set foot on the surface of the moon. In 2009, Omega celebrated the 40th anniversary of the moonlanding with two special watches. One of them is this stainless steel Speedmaster Professional reference 311.30.42.30.01.002 with a silver mission patch at 9 o’clock.

The other watch is a platinum version with the Apollo 11 mission patch in yellow gold on the 9 o’clock subdial. The stainless steel version was limited to 7969 pieces (the platinum only had 69 pieces). A number that sounds high, but given the annual production number of Omega and the huge demand for these commemorative watches, many of them found their way to a happy owner. Including this watch, which was originally bought by a Speedmaster collector who took good care of the watch.

Apollo 11 mission patch

On the case back, you will see the Apollo 11 mission patch in bas relief. Underneath the medallion is the caliber 1861 movement, the hand-wound Lémania based movement that has been used since 1997.

A commemorative silver coin

The Speedmaster Apollo 11 311.30.42.30.01.002 comes in a special black wooden box. In this box, you will find a special booklet on the space missions and a commemorative silver coin with the Apollo 11 logo. A cardholder and instruction booklet are part of the package as well.

Condition

When buying pre-owned, the condition is key. That’s what we fully understand here at Fratello, as we are collectors ourselves for many years (decades). This watch is in amazing mint condition, with no traces of use or wear. The complete package includes the Certificate of Authenticity, the International Warranty card, Pictograms card and a Limited Series card containing the serial number, reference number and unique limited edition number of this Speedmaster. This is a perfect watch for either daily use or to keep in pristine condition for your collection (but we always advise just to wear these beautiful watches, they deserve it).

How is my order shipped?

Your order will be shipped via UPS Express Saver and is fully insured. UPS will try to deliver the shipment on three occasions. After that, the shipment may be returned to us.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Orders placed Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. CET to 5:00 P.M. CET may be edited or canceled within 1 hour of order placement (where possible) by emailing shop@fratello.com. Please note that changes or cancellations are not guaranteed. Those orders that are shipped before a cancellation has been confirmed, must be returned by the guidelines featured in our return policy.

What about pre-orders?

Should you change your mind after placing your order, Fratello will honor any cancellations and offer a full refund when the request is made before the pre-order window closes. Once the pre-order window is closed, all orders are final, and we are unable to cancel your order and offer a refund. All pre-ordered watches are bespoke and made-to-order, so the regular 14-day return window does not apply.
