Ever since we launched our shop in 2019, we’ve wanted to carry a Seiko model that reflects our support of the brand. We feel very privileged to bring you Alpinist reference SPB199J1 before it goes on general release.

Mountain Glacier

The Alpinist SPB199J1 from Seiko Prospex has an unusual gray/green sunburst dial. The color of glacial lakes found in high, mountainous regions served as its inspiration. As such, this model has been nicknamed the “Mountain Glacier”. This unusual color adds a really appealing dimension to the current Alpinist line-up.

For many, the modern Alpinist collection is defined by the internal compass bezel, operated by the crown at 4 o’clock. This now-classic case silhouette is the basis for SPB199J1. While the dial of the new model (which is limited to just 2,020 pieces to mark its year of release) is the gray/green sunburst mentioned above, the compass bezel is a darker, richer green. The contrast between the two results in an interestingly textured display rarely seen in this family.

A Camper's Companion

Ever since the Alpinist was reborn in 1995, Seiko has been taking pains to improve the watches’ appearance and build quality. We’ve already seen several movement updates and the introduction of a sapphire crystal and a display case back. This current watch is powered by Caliber 6R35 — a rock-solid and reliable movement. Additionally this model is water-resistant to 200 meters.

To complement the dial, we decided to design and commission our very first Fratello-branded strap. Made from gray, Italian suede leather, and stamped with the Fratello logo on the reverse, we think it complements the dial very nicely. You can buy it separately in the shop, here!

We offer fully-insured worldwide delivery on all purchases.

How is my order shipped?

Your order will be shipped via UPS Express Saver and is fully insured. UPS will try to deliver the shipment on three occasions. After that, the shipment may be returned to us.

Exact shipping times depend on the destination and customs. You can track you parcel using the tracking link provided to you.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Orders placed Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. CET to 5:00 P.M. CET may be edited or canceled within 1 hour of order placement (where possible) by emailing shop@fratello.com. Please note that changes or cancellations are not guaranteed. Those orders that are shipped before a cancellation has been confirmed, must be returned by the guidelines featured in our return policy.

What about pre-orders?

Should you change your mind after placing your order, Fratello will honor any cancellations and offer a full refund when the request is made before the pre-order window closes. Once the pre-order window is closed, all orders are final, and we are unable to cancel your order and offer a refund. All pre-ordered watches are bespoke and made-to-order, so the regular 14-day return window does not apply.
