A faithful recreation of the watch that appeared in the movie Interstellar

Did you watch Interstellar? If not, you should! Not only because of the watch that is featured there, but also because it is just an incredibly cool movie. It just so happened that the watches featured in Interstellar were made by Hamilton. One of them was christened “the Murph”, after the character to whom it was gifted. The problem was that the watch was a one-off prop created for the film. Despite loud requests to the brand, the watch was not commercially available…

Years later, Hamilton heeded the call. In 2019, the Hamilton Khaki Field Murph was introduced to the world as a regular production model. And, thankfully, it seems the watch’s appeal has not dwindled since it first hit the silver screen, way back in 2014.

Eureka!

The Murph also boasts a well-executed easter egg. Printed along the centrally-mounted sweep seconds hand is a short message in Morse code. The message (which is barely visible on the wrist) says, “Eureka.” It’s a nice touch, for lovers of the movie that remember the scene in which Murph yells it to nobody in particular. Next to the bulkier Cathedral hands, the going seconds hand is not going to disrupt the watch’s legibility at all.

The Hamilton Murph has a lot to offer, not only story-wise. It is fitted with the self-winding caliber H-10, with a power reserve of 80 hours. That leaves the competition behind, especially at this price tag. Don't forget to read our most recent hands-on review of the Hamilton Murph!

How is my order shipped?

Your order will be shipped via UPS Express Saver and is fully insured. UPS will try to deliver the shipment on three occasions. After that, the shipment may be returned to us.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Orders placed Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. CET to 5:00 P.M. CET may be edited or canceled within 1 hour of order placement (where possible) by emailing shop@fratello.com. Please note that changes or cancellations are not guaranteed. Those orders that are shipped before a cancellation has been confirmed, must be returned by the guidelines featured in our return policy.

What about pre-orders?

Should you change your mind after placing your order, Fratello will honor any cancellations and offer a full refund when the request is made before the pre-order window closes. Once the pre-order window is closed, all orders are final, and we are unable to cancel your order and offer a refund. All pre-ordered watches are bespoke and made-to-order, so the regular 14-day return window does not apply.
