A tribute to the Oris Star

We are proud to announce the second chapter of our adventure with independent watchmakers Oris to bring you the Fratello × Oris Divers Sixty-Five Fratello Limited Edition. Our latest release is heavily inspired by what we believe is one of the most beautiful vintage Oris watches from the brand's rich historical back catalog, the Oris Star dive watch from 1968.

Oris is a brand that is near and dear to our hearts. Known for producing excellent quality watches that offer excellent value for money, the Oris Divers Sixty-Five Fratello Limited Edition is no different. The Divers Sixty-Five is one of Oris’ most popular collections, but us being Fratello, we added our twist and take on it.

Just the right size

We took the Divers Sixty-Five case as the starting point. The 40mm stainless steel case felt like a more 2022-appropriate case size and shape. The 36mm of the original was a bit too small for our modern-day tastes. Those familiar with the Divers Sixty-Five will undoubtedly not be surprised to hear of the nicely proportioned 48mm lug-to-lug or the 13mm thickness. We also have 100m of water resistance thanks to the screw-down crown and caseback.

Keeping things glossy

The dial and its cleanliness are what make this watch sing. We kept the glossy dial of the 1968 Oris Star as a nod to the inspiration. We considered a matte finish, but it ultimately changed the watch’s character too much. The trapezium date window also remains, albeit with white printing on a black date wheel to allow it to blend better into the dial as a whole.

We also made sure the hour markers were printed instead of using applied rings for the hour markers. This creates a more subtle and flatter dial, which only helps to highlight the space on the dial. Depth can be a good thing, but here the flatness is refreshing! Finally, those eagle-eyed readers might have noticed that the hour hand slightly differs from Oris’ regular Divers Sixty-Five collection. How? Well, it has the split removed. This makes the hand in line with the 1968 Oris Star. While we have changed and tweaked a few things, there were some things we resolutely refused to switch up — the hand being one of them.

Oris caliber 733

Beating away on the inside is Oris’ Sellita-based caliber 733. The key factor in this decision was ensuring this watch remained on the more affordable side of things for the Fratelli. A Calibre 400 may have been more technically impressive. But it would also have excluded more people from getting the Fratelloris 2.0 on their wrists, and we are about inclusivity here at Fratello.

Incredibly versatile

A vintage-inspired watch needs a vintage-inspired strap. As such, we chose one of Oris’ lovely black calf leather numbers with a simple white side stitch. Before someone points out that a dive watch and a leather strap are not a match made in heaven, bear with me. The leather is for dry activities. You can switch over the additional strap we have included for a little water-based fun. Thanks to the quick-release springbars, fitting the black Tropic strap is a breeze.

The Fratello × Oris Divers Sixty-Five Fratello Limited Edition is limited to 300 pieces, with 250 available right now here at the Fratello Shop. The other 50 pieces will be available from Oris boutiques worldwide. The price is €1,900, excluding VAT, (Please note: VAT is adjusted or fully removed at checkout once you’ve entered your shipping information). We include FREE worldwide shipping on all orders, and the watches are ready to ship in 3-5 business days. Please note that orders placed on and in the weekend of Black Friday will take 4-6 business days to ship.

Do you ship internationally?

We offer fully-insured worldwide delivery on all purchases.

International shipments may be subject to import fees upon arrival in the destination country; any importation fees or taxes are the sole responsibility of the customer.

How is my order shipped?

Your order will be shipped via UPS Express Saver and is fully insured. UPS will try to deliver the shipment on three occasions. After that, the shipment may be returned to us.

Exact shipping times depend on the destination and customs. You can track you parcel using the tracking link provided to you.

Can I change or cancel my order?

Orders placed Monday through Friday from 9:00 A.M. CET to 5:00 P.M. CET may be edited or canceled within 1 hour of order placement (where possible) by emailing shop@fratello.com. Please note that changes or cancellations are not guaranteed. Those orders that are shipped before a cancellation has been confirmed, must be returned by the guidelines featured in our return policy.

What about pre-orders?

Should you change your mind after placing your order, Fratello will honor any cancellations and offer a full refund when the request is made before the pre-order window closes. Once the pre-order window is closed, all orders are final, and we are unable to cancel your order and offer a refund. All pre-ordered watches are bespoke and made-to-order, so the regular 14-day return window does not apply.
